Who doesn't have
as my neighbor gave me a book about a German cyclist named Heinz Helfgen, who cycled
around the world in 1951 - my dream was born: doing something adventurous like
years later, on May 08 in 1998 time was right. With a cycling partner (from whom I
fortunately split further on) who joined me at the last second, good mountain
equipped and full of explore fever I left my hometown Mindelheim (Germany/Bavaria). Each
of the bikes weighed 65 - 70 Kg (140 lbs.) - but we got used to it quite fast and had left
Germany against all skepticism after short 8 days. We slept in a natural cave in
Luxembourg, a farmer took us home in Belgium and we had to rest for a few days in a French
youth hostel after a poisonous grub. Quickly we arrived Calais and took the ferry to Dover
in order to explore the wet, green and hilly island called England ...

monitor) - so please let me know if it was worth it. And maybe I will continue...
